"One Day Give Away: Christmas Clean Up"

You won't believe it, but these flat little things...... are the best dishcloths I've ever used.

I mean, I haven't used these exact ones. They're brand new. And they are my gift to whoever wins this drawing.

Before I tell you how to win them, let me tell you a little bit about the dishcloths.
They come from Sweden but they are designed by a local guy who happens to be my brother-in-law. But that's not why I think they are the best dishcloths ever.
I think that because they absorb like crazy. Which means they wipe up the kitchen counter like a dream. And they wring out super easily. They are not bulky and hard to handle like some sponges and dishcloths.
And here's the best part: They're eco friendly!!
They're 70% cellulose, which is sustainable. Yay!! 30% cotton. They soften when you get them wet. There are many other cute designs for outside of the holiday season... birds, flowers, whatnot. I got a super cute loon pattern for the cabin.

Since these festive designs will be perfect for holiday clean up all you have to do to enter is let me know in the comment section what is the messiest thing you will cook this holiday season. I want to get these mailed right away so the winner gets them by Christmas. So the contest closes Tuesday at 9 PM Central time. Good Luck!

  2. My daughter and I will be making "Sticky Wreaths" as soon as she arrives for the holidays. It's a two-person job because the batter consists mainly of melted marshmallows, corn flakes, and green food coloring; it needs to be shaped into small wreaths very quickly.

The dishcloths sound very cool! They would be perfect for cleaning up this sticky (but so worth it) mess. :-)

  3. Hi Trish! The messiest thing I'll be cooking is the spaghetti sauce for lasagna. It'll be simmering and bubbling all over my flat top stove.

    Merry Christmas!

  6. First of all, we are having our first Scandinavian themed Christmas. We are half Swedish and have never embraced our heritage until now. I don't know...the Swedish meatballs with lingonberries COULD be a bit messy. (Do lingonberries stain?) How fun to clean up with the Swedish dishcloths!!

  7. Christmas eve, we enjoy having appetizers for dinner. I make a super yummy green pepper dip for chips and always have shrimp cocktails! My dad started this tradition when I was little. When I met my husband 35 years ago, he loved my family's tradition and asked me to continue this when we married and moved to Texas (from Iowa!). I will be making my traditional lasagne for Christmas day.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  8. The messiest thing I'll be making is more lefse and flat bread. No matter what we do the flour is everywhere!

These are beautiful and my mother-in-law would cherish them.

  10. Hi Trish, I will be making Christmas Cookies with cookie Cutters with my two Daughters and flour everywhere and the colored sprinkles and little balls that roll everywhere. Talk about a mess! The clothes would pick those up quite nicely.

Merry Christmas Trish! I know you love this time of year because your children will be home under your roof again.

  12. Everything I make with my 6 and 11 year olds is messy! (Especially with Emma, the 6 year old. :)) But, considering that she wants to try to make english toffee (first time for ANY of us to make candy! arrgh!)--I think that we'll have a mess! Small kitchen, sugar, corn syrup and adventurous kids!

  13. The messiest thing I will be making is Christmas cookies with my 3 year old. I have to give up the perfectionist in me when he helps - LOL - he has such a great time - however he only wants to eat the bell shaped cookies. More for me!

  14. Merry Christmas Trish,
I have been following your blog for a while now...First thing I check when I get home! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, pictures and life with us.
The messiest thing......probably "wings" as we also do appetizers for Christmas Eve. Then again, the twice baked potatoes for Christmas Day also leave residue all over the counter. I would love to give them a try!
I normally knit my dishcloths (my green effort) yet these really appealed to me. If I am not lucky enough to win, could you please let us know where they are available? Thanks!!!

  18. Honestly Trish, I'm a little compulsive and need to continuously wipe the counter, stove, and sink no matter what I am preparing. It must be some kind of fetch - but I can't stand having a messy area! The messiest item I will prepare will be with be a Heath Bar Truffle Cake - you have to smash the heath bars, and even in a bag somehow there are piece everywhere! Then crumbling the cake makes quite a mess too - but totally worth it! Have a great holiday - enjoy every minute your daughter is home!!!!

  19. The kids and I will be making the pretzels that we dip in the melted white and chocolate bark and sprinkles on top..it is quite the mess but we have done it every year with them since they were 1 and its thier favorite tradition..making the gingerbread house comes in a close second.
